Sally Kirka was born in Manchester on December 21, 1918 and had lived most of her life in Manchester. Sally served in the Women’s Army Corps during World War II. She was a communicant of St. James Church. She was an avid coin collector specializing in elongated coins and was the past president of the Elongated Coin Society and one of the original members. She was also active in many local, state and national Numismatic Organizations. She was the editor of three coin publications, NENA News, Wooden Nickel Club and The Elongated Collector. Sally received numerous national Numismatic Awards during her lifetime. Sally was very creative in arts and crafts, specializing in the designing of elongated coins.
